S.I.B.S. Chats are virtual gatherings for adult siblings of people with disability in IL hosted by Supporting Illinois Brothers and Sisters.  We understand that life as a sibling is different for every person. We know that having a sibling with a disability comes with unique challenges as well as joys and opportunities.  For many it’s a complex mixture of all of the above!

 As sibs, we play critical roles in the lives of our brothers and sisters—in fact, in many cases we will be their longest-lasting relationship in life, managing their care longer than our parents. And yet, few resources exist to specifically help siblings.

SIBS Chats are available 4 times a year and foster peer relationships among the sibling community in IL. We strive for siblings to meet others in a relaxed, fun and social environment in order to make long lasting connections with other siblings near them. SIBS Chats maybe a mixture of speakers talking about important issues and information for adult siblings as well as open discussions by sibling members.
